Bus Bunching

As this seems the right thread, and not to repeat too much:

The problem isn't so much that supervisors can/can not use Bustracker, the issue is that mobile supervisors are so far and few right now. ...

Some of this seems a result of the combination of Gump trying to cut out the extra board and firing those who don't show up.

Anyway....

Since there are now better tools, are there new strategies that are being implemented if there were the supervision to do so?

Or are we still in the Kruesi era of "the lead bus has to make all stops and the followers are not supposed to pass?"

Still in the era where the lead bus makes all stops and the followers are not supposed to pass. I find this practice to also be true at MCTS as we'll, especially if you have routes that have branches and they bunch or if the short turn, they follow the scheduled bus that is late, making the bus that was on time fall behind too. In some cases if there are 2 routes that travel on the same portion of a route but with different destination points (ex. route 10 (Humboldt-Wisconsin) & Route 30 (Sherman-Wisconsin) travel along the heavily used Wisconsin ave Corridor between S. Jackson St & N. 35th st, a Westbound 10 can not pass up a 30 on certain days of the scheduled trips (usually between 7:00 am to 8:00 pn Weekdays because of high ridership demand and if a 10 should come close to passing a 30, then a 10 will have to do a 2 to 4 minute mid-trip layover for the 30 to continue it's trip along Wisconsin before the 10 can complete it's run on Wisconsin to 35th st, allowing the 30 to get first opportunity to pick up passengers before the 10 does it's skip stop service alobg the corridor (kind of like A/B SKIP STOP service just with two different bhs routes traveling along a Very heavy corridor).
