Amtrak41
I know that most if not all of the last batch of Fishbowls that were delivered in the mid-1970's had non-openable windows like some of the GMC PD-series coaches. Then as the A-C broke down fleetwide over the years, the windows were set to flap open at the bottom, or there was open-able window sash. Did those window sashes get transplanted from older Fishbowls as they were scrapped. ?

CTA wouldn't have had enough GM fishbowls to swap any old parts (i.e. they had about 320 1960s fishbowls and 1870 1970s fishbowls). Flxs had different kind of windows. Also, you could tell if it was not old fishbowl by the fact that after about 1970, the windows had to pull lever at the bottom center to lock them to try to keep them from flapping; before then, you could just push them out, whether they had movable sash or not. Those new window sets didn't quite fit the window correctly, and that left you with rattling windows. I forget if it was a problem with an incorrect sash or not. In the MBS books (Chicago Part 4) Andre talks all about the windows on those buses with the AC problems those buses had. I remember seeing windows long ago on some of those buses that had a green tint to them. (maybe they were from some 60's Flx's or GM buses) Also there used to be some window handles that were square with black buttons on them. I don't know if those were scrap replacement parts or they came off a retired bus at the time. This would be in the early to mid 1980's timeframe. Busjack
The square with a button on it would be late 60s, so I guess there would have been a few retrofits. 70s style was more "rocker." Of course, late 50s, early 60s was a grip about half way up the curved edge.
