1. Yes. GPS tracking units that are used to determine a train's position will be replaced, which will result in more reliable communication to passengers.

2. Currently, conductors or other personnel physically count passengers. Ticket sales are also used to estimate ridership. The new system would use cameras to automatically count people as they move in or out through the doors.

Metra tracker apparently now working on all lines. There are trains showing up on the map for BNSF and the 3 UP lines.
