Flyer Sighting

On my way to Wrigley yesterday, I saw BW2 parked in what used to be the Wilson Ave carhouse (now just a fenced in empty lot, with a couple of smaller buildings). Could not tell if it was an old 9800 or 1600, but from the train, it looked like it was in fairly good body shape.

I'm not sure about WB-2, but I saw a unmarked Flyer on Lincoln once under the Metra tracks.  The number was very faded but it looked like it said either 9963, 9965, or 9968.

BTW: WB-2 is in good shape body wise, but mechanically, it isn't.  I saw this bus turning from Irving Park onto Lincoln and almost choked on the blue exhaust cloud this bus was emitting.  The engine is clearly burning oil by the smell of it. :(

Here she is.... the bus mentioned in the beginning of my post.  Pictures courtesy of Zolk...

I saw that same bus today. (Yes, WB-2 with the old Today show ad, that's definately the one). It was on Goethe between Wells and Sedgwick fixing the Brown Line elevated tracks. I also saw the same bus about five-to-nine months ago fixing the Brown Line tracks near Lincoln and Paulina. Haven't seen it run so I can't comment on its mechanical well-being.

How old do you think that Today Show ad is? What year or so is it from? Just wondering.
