2) Which type will I most likely will I get?

If the 173 is one of those routes that runs down the side streets or on Lake Street under the "L", then it'll most likely be either a TMC RTS Narrow(4900) Series(If any are still active) or the Orion I Narrow(4915) Series recently put into service from PACE.

Is there a Orion I on #173 everyday?

not neccessarily. they've been known for using 5300's, 6000's, and even the 7500's in addition to the Orions; and since they only run a few buses each night (60 minute headways except weekends), chances are that its about 1 in a few.
