I always chalked that up to the mechanics at Kedzie being so good at their jobs. As it stands, the 900s might have lasted longer if not for ISE, the folks who built the ThunderVolt hybrid drive units that powered them, going bankrupt and making future parts for them unavailable.

In my opinion I find the 800s more reliable than the 900s even those 900s were my favorite hybrids. On the right side towards the back the small compartment door was vented out fully through which was another feature I liked if you all know what I’m talking about lol

800, 802-809 to Scrap Metal Services early 2024. Series now extinct.

Only DE40LF left is #905, once it gets hauled off soon the 900-series will be extinct as well, claiming victory of extinction of all 20 hybrids. This could be unrelated however this info is how many buses remain for each series until extinction.

500s: 526 and 544 - 2 buses left

800s: Extinct

900s: 905 - 1 bus left

4400s: - 1 left 4400 prototype

5300s: - 2 buses left (5454 and 5678)

6000s: - 11 left with 6163 included

6400s: - 40-45 left including the operable ones

Will add the fishbowls later but as of now this is all I can quickly remember.
