jesi2282
What type of buses operate on route #168 and #17.
RJL6000
The #17 is operated from the Kedzie Garage; as such, #17 operates using Flxibles (of either the 5300 series or the newer 6000 series) or the 4400-series RTS's. The new 1000-series New Flyers may run on the #17 sometime after the Kedzie Garage receives its full assignment of those buses. I think #168 is also a Kedzie Garage route, and thus runs with the same type of equipment as the #17. In both cases, the 7500-series NABI's assigned to the Kedzie Garage are kept off of these two routes due to their expected lower ridership and their operation on some of the narrow residential streets. MetroShadow
Nah, I don't think Kedzie would use the newer buses out there (on Westchester), but I usually see the beaters (5300 flxibles, or a TMC) on that route, above all else. But 168 should be Kedzie, according to the Chicago Railfan page. Same rules apply (except I'll argue more for the NABI's on this route). rmadisonwi
At least one 1000-series bus has already operated on the 17. The 168 always seems to get bus 6070, though I'm not sure why that is.
