Metra accidents

There was a similar accident to the one at Clarendon Hills on the Milwaukee North near Hainesville. A dump truck using a private crossing was struck by a train, killing the driver and derailing the cab car.  ABC7 said that trains could only operate south of Grayslake (the accident happened on a single track line).

ABC7: UP-N suspended because it hit a semi at Linden Ave. in  Wilmette. 2 passengers taken to the hospital. I wonder which one.

Saw  trains about an hour ago, and the Metra site says the tracks were cleared, so it's over.

All because the idiot truck driver ignored the sign that reads "NO LOW SLUNG TRUCKS" at the Linden grade crossing.  There have been multiple collisions like this in Wilmette at either Linden or Oak because the truck drivers are morons that don't believe the signs!  Those trucks can only cross the tracks at Central, Wilmette or Lake, which are far more level. I hope that Metra sues the hell out of the driver & his company & the Secretary of State's office revokes his commercial driver's license.

Evanston RoundTable article, citing the Wilmette police, that that's essentially how it happened. It also confirmed that the injured passengers were transported to the hospital I thought.
