jackathan
Similar to the rebuild between Balmoral and Grace Streets, Metra will begin rebuilding the UP-N between Fullerton and Addison streets in the summer of 2023. The Addison/Lincoln Street bridge will be refurbished, while the bridges between Cornelia and Fullerton Avenues will be replaced. While this will be better for Union Pacific North commuters, this will be adverse for those who live directly adjacent to the tracks, as Metra plans to move the tracks 20 feet west to avoid reducing service during construction. I wish Metra had 3 tracks permanently between Clybourn and at least Rogers Park.

The reason for shifting the track goes back several years when Metra tried to force both directions on one track, and it didn't work.
