Transferred Flxibles (5300) Now at 74th Garage.

Quite a few Flxibles from Kedzie Garage have now been transferred to 74th Garage.                                                                                      

Today I saw and rode bus 5607 on the #9 Ashland route, the bus had a ''K'' sticker on the windsheld.

I thought I had been seeing 5300s running down Ashland, but figured they were going to there garages. Could never tell for sure because the store I work in is too far from the street.

I feel sorry for that operator...having to drive a 5300 when you are use to 6000s. Even TMCs are better than that.

Does anyone have numbers of the buses supposedly transferred to 74th Street (besides 5607, noted above)? The company bus assignment report doesn't indicate any such transfers, so it may have been a very-short-term loan. Unfortunately, the computer system that I could use to track where a bus has been on a given day is down, so I haven't been able to trace that (or any other) buses in the last few days.

With these reports and the one about a 1000 on Ashland, is it possible that Kedzie is doing some fill-in runs?

I hadn't heard about the 1000 on Ashland. I know there's nothing scheduled out of Kedzie on Ashland. I suppose 74th could have an acute bus shortage and need to borrow a bus or two, but then again, it's not like any of the other garages really have anything to spare.

The report about the 1000 on Ashland was in the New Flyers (1000) In Service thread. Personally, I can't vouch for it, but don't have reason to doubt it.

I saw a New Flyer displaying X9 Ashland Exp, but I saw this bus going down Cermak and their was a paper Cermak sign in the window so the electronic sign was obviously malfunctioning. It might have actually been some kind of extra or help run on Ashland before the E-sign stop working.

There are no 5300s at 74th garage. Bus 5607 must have been a one-day loan. It was on a 74th garage run on September 6th, but was on Kedzie runs on the 5th and 7th, and was still at Kedzie as of late last week.
