4 routing downtown

Transit app shows both routes using Michigan, Randolph, and Columbus to the layover, then Columbus, Wacker, and back to Michigan.

South Water was closed recently, which prompted a new route for the 124, and I believe also for the 6.

Kindly clarify - current(?) maps show 4 local via Columbus - South Water - Michigan while X4 is shown via Columbus - Wacker - Michigan. Is this correct? If so, when was X4 rerouted?

The 6 hasn't been on South Water in years. It had been terminating at Columbus near where Upper Wacker ends and using that last portion that wraps around the ramp to Lower Wacker to turn around. The city did some work on that portion a couple of years ago that facilitated a route change of the 6 to its present form. The work ended some time ago, but the 6 never reverted back to that prior form.

When South Water was closed, that triggered a change in the routing of the 4, X4, 20 (rush hour Illinois Center marked trips), and the 124. So the map's routing for the 4 is incorrect, but for the X4 it is correct if I'm picturing the initial question correctly.

So what is current 6 turnaround? Stop list still shows "Columbus & South Water NW corner", "Columbus & Randolph NW corner" and "Randolph and Stetson NE corner" as stops, but not Wacker and Columbus WB. Is the stop list out of date then?

Bus Tracker map shows the following, which I assume is most current:
