It had been terminating at Columbus near where Upper Wacker ends and using that last portion that wraps around the ramp to Lower Wacker to turn around. The city did some work on that portion a couple of years ago that facilitated a route change of the 6 to its present form. The work ended some time ago, but the 6 never reverted back to that prior form. When South Water was closed, that triggered a change in the routing of the 4, X4, 20 (rush hour Illinois Center marked trips), and the 124. Stop list still shows "Columbus & South Water NW corner", "Columbus & Randolph NW corner" and "Randolph and Stetson NE corner" as stops, but not Wacker and Columbus WB.
