Kevin
While watching a video on increased north-side bus service on the Chicago Tribune's Web site this morning, I was flabbergasted when I saw CLTV using stock footage of customers boarding a fishbowl. Perhaps it's time to get some new stock video footage?
Busjack
At 0:47, there is a shot of a red white and blue 9300 followed by a 4400, putting the clip somewhere between 1992 and 1996. I previously noted Channel 32 using footage of white Pace 8000s, but apparently they went behind their studios and later used footage of a 2300 on 355 (probably still not up to date). Anyway, it was CLTV, so we can expect cheap. I'm surprised they weren't pine and lime ones. Update: The WGN noon news used footage of bus 4295, so not much better. jesi2282
Well, if you look behind the RTS just before the video starts, there is a pine and lime painted fishbowl.
busfan4022
The TMC was out of NP while the GMC was out of 74th garage. Weird......... Anyway, I think they shot the footage before actually making the video. D:
RIPTA42
Maybe that's part of the strategy for supplementing service; they'll take any old buses that are lying around - scrap buses, work buses, museum buses - and press them back into passenger service. I can't wait to see those Carpenters over at Forest Glen on the 146.
