Busjack Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 I don't want to start a new thread to ask this question so please bear with me. Does it seem strange to you folks that CTA has so many destination sign problems on buses which are relatively new?Yes I do. I rode 1452 on the X28 Stony Express Wednesday. It's destination sign was stuck on 15 Jeffery Local indicating a destination of 47th/Red Line station. It had a paper sign to indicate it was an X28. I thought it was weird considering 103rd and North Park's Flyers are new. There seems to be a history of this. The Twinvisions on the 6400s used to show triangles a lot. Do they still? Is there something that requires that electronic equipment like this get a kick in the pants before it works? Loose connectors? Quote

Heres another story, The New Flyers that run on the 18 16/18 route are always stuck on X9 Ashland express, Always!. Quote
nflyer22 Posted November 3, 2007 Report Posted November 3, 2007 Heres another story, The New Flyers that run on the 18 16/18 route are always stuck on X9 Ashland express, Always!. Yeah, rarely it has the proper 18 16th/18th sign, since I live in Chinatown, and I see them very often. Quote

Is this still the case, as of a week or so ago? I pointed this problem out to certain people, and it was supposedly going to be fixed. Quote

I haven't observed it being a problem any longer when I saw two Flyers heading to start their runs Tuesday afternoon. Quote
Busjack Posted November 4, 2007 Author Report Posted November 4, 2007 With regard to signs on a route (or even a run) being consistently wrong, that is an error in programming the Clever Devices (or on Pace, IBS) device. In the case of a Kedzie Garage bus, it would show up only on the New Flyers, because the CD is not connected to the thumb-wheel (Vultron) sign controller on the 4400s and earlier 5300s. Other instances of frozen signs or triangles need another explanation. Quote
