I love the sound of those Diesels. Also Is the KK operating garage the only bus garage in the MCTS system or do thay have another depot elsewhere in Milwaukee system? rmadisonwi
Milwaukee has three garages. There's Kinnkikinnic (KK & Mitchell), Fond du Lac (32nd & Fond du Lac), and Fiebrantz (19th & Fiebrantz, north of Capitol). There are always rumors about Fiebrantz being closed, but I wouldn't put too much weight into them at this time. The RTS buses may still be around somewhere. There was an old lot off of 6th & Cherry (I think?, just south of Walnut) that had a handful of old RTSs along with the rare 3300-series Neoplans. However, I believe that lot was cleaned out the last time I was by there. A couple of omissions on the list above were routes 2, 6 (Oak Creek I-bus, wasn't that out of KK when it existed?), and weren't the old 121 and 280 (which lasted a few months in 1993 or 1994) also out of KK? I remember a few years ago spotting a Milwaukee RTS in Waukegan Ill. Dunno if it stilll there. If anyone spots one somewhere pls let me know!
