BusHunter
Yesterday I spotted something that was a bit of a shocker for me. I was on the Ashland bus and spotted #4906 sitting in the terminal at the Orange line/Ashland. Just sitting there with all the original #4906 numbering and everything. I felt like I was back in Hyde Park in 2005. Hey I thought these were all work buses renumbered in the WB's or buses being repainted for the CFD. On a sidenote, this bus was there as a warming bus for the operators. I knew that because I heard about it earlier in the week. There's a chance it could be there today with temperatures in the 20's. I don't know when a warming bus would get pulled from there. (how hot it has to be)

I miss TMCs with the back window, the body still looks good.

Speaking of the TMCs I read a memo passed down at the Fire Dept. that the CFD bus will be dispatched to a 2-11 fire if the weather is extremely cold. The bus is dispatched from 3940 S Honore. Like it's still picking up bike passengers.
BusHunter
I learned a few things about #4906 yesterday. The bus has a bad oil leak from the engine. It's not going to be around much longer. When you accellerate the bus from a stop huge amounts of blue smoke come out the tailpipe. Quite a bit of smoke, looks like a Space shuttle launch. It doesn't smoke when it stands still, but it still leaks oil on the ground. The operators are using this bus for reliefs now at Ashland/orange line. Hey, when did the #9 and #8 start doing reliefs at the Orange line? I thought this was still done at 74th.
