Zol87
Today I was riding the 422 with my mom to the Purple Line. At Lake/Ridge around 7:30am, a New Flyer bus #1871 passed us heading west on Lake Avenue. The destination sign said "North Park Garage" I didn't catch the run number. I don't think this was not reroute for the 201?

I don't think this was not reroute for the 201? I have had strange sightings of garage runs from N201. Obviously this one wasn't in service. The strangest sighting such as this one was when I was leaving First Night in Evanston (probably about 7 or 8 years ago), where there was a 5800 heading northbound on Sheridan Road after midnight. I was only going to Lake Ave., but it went north of that. There is nothing about 201 on the Customer Alerts list, although I do see that the 2 and 15 are being rerouted around Obama's house. Coincidence? Getting back to the subject, I suppose someone out of NP could verify and explain these sightings.

There was another time a few years ago where a 201 was rerouted up Skokie BLVD to Old Glenview Road. I can't remember what type of bus it was. I was sitting at the bus shelter at that intersection, when the bus pulled up an opened it's doors. The driver opened the doors to ask me how to get back to Crawford Avenue. He said that the bus was being rerouted because of Old Orchard Road was closed for some reason that I can't remember. Dont be surprised if we see a CTA Obama route! What do you mean by a CTA Obama route?

If it were at Lake and Ridge...this would be a 206 As for busjack, can't explain those accounts. For one even if it were an N201, the first trip does not leave the Granville Red Line until close til 1 a.m. anyhow. Additionally, if there were a re-route...they wouldn't be up as far as Sheridan. Can't be a 200, 205 or a 206, none of the latter run at that hour. Perhaps a lost driver...thats been known to happen in Evanston. One Saturday I was working a 97/201 interline combo...this operator off the 147 gives me a map for a rookie "fresh meat" operator whom never did the 201 before. She told me if the girl didn't show before my relief bus arrived to lock the map in one of the driver restrooms and she would check there. Well I wasn't about to waste my fallback waiting on someone I didn't even know what they looked like...so the restroom it was. Let me put it this way, when I left the Skokie Swift en route to Old Orchard, a bus signed for 201 Central/Ridge was following me up Bronx Ave. What does this tell you? Around here...anythings possible...
trainman8119
Hey maybe it was one of those 147's that keeps signing "via Purple Line".
Busjack
If it were at Lake and Ridge...this would be a 206Why would a 206 be at Lake and Ridge? Other than the driver having to stop at Treasure Island, which is unlikely.

Sorry...I thought maybe you were referring to Lake and Ridge in EVANSTON As for stopping at Treasure Island...never deny the impossible busjack!
Busjack
Sorry...I thought maybe you were referring to Lake and Ridge in EVANSTONSorry about the ambiguity, but the topic was Wilmette and Zol was on the 422.
jajuan
With the obama mania that everyone talks about, mayor daley is hyped up about it, already a school in the suburbs has changed its name to barack obama school. Daley and every other Illinois Democratic politician can get as hyped as they want, Obama has already stated today that Illinois and Chicago get no special treatment just because he will soon be President. Meaning Blago and the General Assembly still have to get off their butts to pass a capital plan soon or risk Illinois' share of the federal matching funds pie. With Obama's assurances of no special favors that turns the rest of the country against Illiinois from a perceived sense of getting more than our fair share, I don't mind the Obamamania that's going on. It's a historic time after all. As for the topic at hand, could those sightings be deadheads from any of the Evanston Four assigned to NP? cta_44499_FG
As for the topic at hand, could those sightings be deadheads from any of the Evanston Four assigned to NP? Doesn't explain the bus being sighted across the Evanston/Wilmette border.......the pullin/out routes from the northern extremities are as follows: 200 to Central Pk/RandMcNally- via Foster, McCormick and Main to Central Pk. to/from Main/Chicago- Foster, Western, Howard, Clark/Chicago to Main. 97/201/205 from/to Old Orchard (Skokie Courts) - via Foster to I-94, exit at Old Orchard Road to mall driveway or to Raoul Wallenberg Drive if its a 205 pullout. Most of the 205s tend to pullin/out to/from Howard St anyway. Pullin the reverse. 206 to/from Central/Crawford- via Foster, north on Kimball/McCormick to Golf, Golf to Crawford and north on Crawford to starting point of route at Central St.
Busjack
Hey maybe it was one of those 147's that keeps signing "via Purple Line". I saw one downtown today on Michigan Avenue that was 147 via YELLOW LINE. That was eventually where I was going, but not via that route.
