Busjack
I should have looked at this thread earlier! How about: 131 Washington Express 17 Westchester Were in my spreadsheet, except 17 is valid under "midday ceded to Pace," since the rush hour still lives for some very unknown reason. I just picked up on the something I missed when I reviewed your spreadsheet. At the time of its elimination under Booz-Allen, the 131 was a local route not express. It just happened to be revived for a few years as X20 Washington/Madison Express.
Railwaymodeler
Whatever happened to the route that ran between Ogilive Transportation Center, and the Adler Planetarium? I think it was the 128 or 129 (Memory is a little fuzzy), and I think was rush hour only. I think the first run in the afternoon was around 3, when I got off work (I worked in the IT department of the Planetarium at the time). The first run was usually so late, that I would not be able to catch the 5:07 UP North line northbound train to Waukegan (Which got in barely in time to get my last bus home in Waukegan!) Usually it was much more reliable to catch a 146, and I think a Madison bus the rest of the way. As far as I remember (Which could easily be wrong), that route's number was re-assigned to something else?

Route started 1/3/82 as part of the 14 running EB am Washington, Michigan to Balbo and WB pm via Michigan, Madison. Due to people avoiding the express surcharge on 14 pm by catching the bus west on Madison the pm service became tied into 6. From 4/25/83 moved to 77th and given separate number 127, interworked with 62 pm. From 11/28/83 pull ins and outs served Board of Education HQ via Pershing-Archer-Cermak-Michigan-Madison. From 10/19/87 revised to run NW station to McCormick Place (RH & special events) with non-stop service from Balbo to McCormick Place. From 10/31/94 RH service cut back to Michigan Balbo. Around 10/97 extended RH from Balbo to Planetarium RH only. From 6/19/2006 service to Museum Campus dropped and service became Madison/ Roosevelt Circulator running both directions basically on Madison, Ogden, Roosevelt, Michigan & Madison. This service was eliminated 6/13/2008. (From 10/31/94 to 6/19/2006 special event service was provided from Union station to McCormick Place for Auto Show and Nutcracker showing route 127. McCormick Place service for Auto Show 2007 moved to 130 (not displayed on bus).)

At the time of its elimination under Booz-Allen, the 131 was a local route not express. It just happened to be revived for a few years as X20 Washington/Madison Express. 131 was withdrawn three times! First 9/13/81 only to have local rush hour service restored 12/20/82 from Michigan to Austin. Midday service (every 30 minutes) restored 9/9/84. Withdrawn again 2/2/92 but political pressure saw it restored rush hour only 2/17/92. Final withdrawal 10/5/97.

Correct but not the point of what I wrote, or changes it in any way. The route was a local route at the time of its elimination October of 1997 under BoozAllen as I stated and was pretty much resurrected in a sense as the now just recently eliminated X20 Washington/Madison Express which followed the old 131 routing east of Central Park and operated between the same two points as 131 and with 131's hours of operation in its rush only incarnation.
