I had been advocating the former for a long time now, especially since Edmonton got the E40LFRs. BTW, what ever happened to the downtown distributor "multimodal use of the streets" as Krambles called it? Last I heard, it had the adjective "defunct" appended to it. BTW, is it true that CTA is going to reactivate the 36 Broadway State Green Hornet and the car barn at 63rd and Wabash for it?

This would scare the daylights out of me if they're closing North Park but it would be nice if it was for to build the inside garage like 74th to keep the buses in body good condition same with Forest Glen, and I did remember someone said that they were going to close Forest Glen before they picked an over 100 year old Archer Garage.

Yeah that's why Vancouver got rid of their Flyer D901 Trolleys just recently due to poor electrical wire condition and shipped them to Antarctica.

Wherever you heard this, it's false. CTA just closed its Archer facility this past February and is now currently down to seven garages. So unless you know of a way they'd get by with just six, don't believe what is obviously a rumor with no merit to it.

Umm, no. Vancouver got rid of their Flyer E901A/E902 trolleys (the "D" stands for "Diesel", which isn't found in any trolleybus in Vancouver) a few years ago because they were 25 years old, mechanically unreliable, spare parts were in short supply (which tends to happen when a model of bus hasn't been built in a couple of decades), they weren't wheelchair accessible, etc.

A number of them were still in pretty good condition, and they were shipped to South America (it honestly scares me where some people learn their geography, but let me give you a hint: Antarctica doesn't have a population save for a few scientists and researchers, and no transit systems exist down there), where things like wheelchair accessibility aren't really important. The city of Mendoza, Argentina (take a look on a world map, and look for South America and you'll find it) bought a bunch of them, including a handful to use solely as spare parts buses, where they continue to run fine.

The remainder were scrapped.
