NABI Artic Interior Lighting

Hey, what's going on with the "cool blue" interior lighting on the new artics? I see they are being replaced with standard white lighting. I always thought this was a classy night-time look that complimented our landmarks and skyline. Will cta replace those in the 40 footers also?

I don't think the CTA is replacing anything on its NABIs at this point.

I was going to say about the same thing. The NABIs are sitting in the yards, waiting for the lawyers or wreckers. Maybe i8 can rephrase the thread.

OK guys-my bad. I did mean New Flyers. I was driving along Clark, Sheridan and the Outer Drive saturday night when I saw 4199, among others with the "white" lighting.

New Flyer Artics 4000-4148, 4151-4156, 4159, 4166, 4192, 4197, and 4207 have a blueish white LED light. The balance of the artics have a yellowish-white LED light. Same light, just different colors (I think the blue ones look better). I've noticed that when the blueish ones are replaced when they die out, they are replaced with the yellowish ones resulting in mixed matched colored buses (which is tacky).

If LED lights are dying already, on buses less than two years old, that would call into question the quality of the LED product.

I always thought that LEDs should be able to last for a number of years. That's what's supposed to make them better than other lights.

Two things make them better than florescent: They last longer (claimed), and when they are disposed of, they don't emit mercury.
