No. The WMATA 5000-series cars were not built by Bombardier. They were built by a Spanish-American joint venture and delivered between 2001 and 2004. From the press release, appears to be a brake fire, and like the CTA, apparently they have communications problems in the tunnel, but unlike CTA, at least admit it.
