New bus info wanted

Recommended Posts

Recently got a new fleet inventory from PACE. Am liiking for any info (locations, photos, etc) on two groups:

0001-0005 2008 International/ElDorado AeroElite (NOT EZ Rider II's like CTBP has)- these are hood-in-front "midibuses" apparently in regular route service somewhere.

11001-11010 2010 Ford/Startrans Hybrids - appear to be in demand-responsive service somewhere. Any further info?

By the way, the current paratransit fleet is:

5130-5499, 5981-5999 2008-2010 ElDorado Aerotech (no 5213,5313,5413)

5700-5746 2009-10 ElDorado Aerolite (no 5713)

Andre

Ans: Downers Grove.

Ans: Paratransits in Schaumburg and Elgin. Discussed in this thread, although the insider at Pace South Holland took down his posts with the pictures. The reference is to the Facebook image here.

So is it correct that 0001-0005 are owned by Downers Grove and not by PACE?

No, that isn't.

You can search throughout this forum for more backup,* but the vehicles have Pace stickers,** and apparently are owned by Pace and leased to Downers Grove. That b.s. apparently was because the grant had to go through Pace. Pace also issued the RFP for those buses. Also noted somewhere else on this forum is that 0006 is owned by Downers Grove because the village board authorized buying a used bus, but found a new one on a dealer's lot cheaper.

*I would use Google site:chicagobus.org + "downers grove" or the like, but don't have the time to recreate it. Also try "cutaway."

**Under the green stripe but above the rub rail in the picture.

Probably as good a place as any:

Pace has requisitions for about 117 to 417 15 passenger paratransits, and 90 to 630 11 passenger ones. The best I can tell, they must be going ahead with converting the city fleet from contractor supplied vehicles, as the above indicates that pretty much all Pace has in suburban paratransit service are fairly new (maybe some of the 2008-2009 come up for replacement in the next 5 years, but the existing fleet is 446).

Also, unless Pace is real good with Photoshop, one of the Startrans hybrids is on the St. Charles-Geneva CNR.
