Construction is set to start in 2014, at the cost of $75 million. One major change in the final version is that there is no longer a single canopy spanning the entire width of the station. Rather, there are now two separate canopies. (The rendering is on the CTA's Facebook page.)

Press release here.

While every possible politician was there, one has to laugh at the Emanuel statement " You cannot have a 21st century economy sitting on 20th century economic infrastructure and we continue to make investments throughout the entire CTA system to improve our infrastructure and brighten our economic future" especially since CDOT is building something on a 19th century structure that should have been taken down by 1960 and replaced by a planned subway.
