sw4400
That's not going to go over so well for the feds, who put money into the Oakton station, which still has probably 38 years left on its service life. Probably would be up to Skokie (the grantee) to refund that money, so you just put it in a bigger pickle. At the present time, it looks like it is the MWRD's responsibility to fix the mess it caused.Sounds like MWRD is a big corporation.... and big corporations have a way of pointing fingers...."It's CTA's fault for having such heavy rails and ties on the embankment. It wouldn't have collapsed if it wasn't for that. They should pay for it and hire a construction crew to repair the damage." MWRD to CTA"It's MWRD's fault(which it is). They miscalculated and damaged a water/sewage main which caused the ground to give way, making the Yellow Line embankment dangerous to use now. They need to pony up the funds to get a construction crew out to repair the damage." CTA to MWRDCourt and long hangups..... here we come. Remember NABI v. CTA and how long that was in limbo. Anytime you go to court, it gets dragged out...
Busjack
Sounds like MWRD is a big corporation.... and big corporations have a way of pointing fingers.......No, it is just a bunch of political hacks, run by the same machine as runs everything else political here. And, at least in the press, they have admitted responsibility.

That probably would bring a level of attention on them that miraculously has the Illinois voting public actually paying attention to who runs for District elected positions.
