Busjack Posted January 2, 2016 Report Posted January 2, 2016 Link. The one surprising thing is the CMC Ford bus, given corporate ties to Yellow Coach/GMC. Quote
andrethebusman Posted January 3, 2016 Report Posted January 3, 2016 During and right after WW2 the Ford Transit bus was readily available and cheap. It has been determined that close to 10000 were built between 1940 and 1946. There were probably 200 in the Chicago area, being operated by not just CMC and CTA but also West Towns and South Suburban. However, they were after all a "war emergency" bus, built with a lot of wood structure to them, and so most lasted into the mid-50's at best, about 10 years (which when you think about it, is not that bad!) MTRSP1900-CTA3200 Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Very nice. I like how the 2400s made their way into the calendar. Quote
