When i was in the Northeast part of the Metroplex there was a light rail line that ran tight past where I was staying, but the nearest station was still a mile away and the frequency was horrific. That part of the line ran parallel to U.S.75 which does head south toward downtown Dallas. I didn't get the chance to ride it yet but I will try if I can get down there again.
