RIPTA42
...look what turned up in the scrap line at South Shops. There are at least two of them there right now.
Busjack
All three of them have been in the Perry yard for some time now. Two of them were wrapped. The JUNK run number is interesting though, as are the broken or missing windows, indicating that they may now well be junk. So much for the request for proposals to repower them. sw: Compare the legend on the front bumper of this one, with what looks to be the legend on the back bumper of the one in the image in trainman's post. Look similar?
RIPTA42
And here's 5901. In case there's still any doubt that the small picture in trainman's post is a 5900, note the placement of the rear destination sign.
cta1060
I never even seen or rode the 5900s. I have a couple photos of them via the Commander Photographer Myron Lane. It's better than nothing. By the way, what year are these buses? Which garage assigned to?
trainman8119
They were about 1994-95 and were assigned to Chicago Avenue. Their stay was fairly short.
RIPTA42
5900 doesn't look too good, either.

AFAIK, those 5900's were built about the same time as the 3 Vancouver Ballard coaches. Vancouver's bodies were built in 1997 IIRC.
MRCTA
...look what turned up in the scrap line at South Shops. There are at least two of them there right now. Didn't the CTA retire those? Or are they still in service? Looks kinda broken down, doesn't it?

Someone posted a couple of months ago that they are still sitting at 78th and Perry. Go back and look.
