OK. I am curious - I thought one factor in ceasing of Compobus production was the Buy America requirement. Will LA Metro [or NABI] seek a waiver?
The committee report said that the contract was "subject to completion of the required Buy America Pre-Award audit." Maybe new NABI management has found a way to comply (or the means to comply after charging $597K per bus). One would have to check the fta.dot site to see if NABI actually does apply for a waiver, but the award doesn't seem contingent on it doing so.

Obviously, coming back from the dead raises questions, but a base contract for 260 units and the potential for 1000, at current prices, may overcome a lot of them. Various documents, including the proposal to inspect in Kaposvar, indicate that at least the shells will be built in Hungary.

For pace2322's benefit, while LA has voiced confidence in NABI, the requests for inspection services both in Hungary and Alabama indicates that it is covering its hiney.
