geneking7320
Hi All; Saturday I happened to ride CTA bus #6462 on route 3 King Dr and it was fitted with the "alternative" seats. I say "alternative" because I can't think of the company's name (I think they are local though). My complaint about the seating is the 3 aisle facing seats just ahead of the exit door. The seats seemed to be pushed out toward the aisle more and the seat back pushes out one's lower back pronouncedly.I must admit this arrangement will clear the "box" as the prior seats did not. Any comments?
Kevin
Hmm... I know that #6673 has seats from Freedman Seating Company, but I'm not sure about #6462. Where the seats on this bus the same as what the CompoBus had? The Compo had the Freedman seats, and I'm assuming those are what we'll see in the NewFlyer order. I remember when the CTA was testing out new seats they did try two different companies. It's possible #6462 contains seats from Pennsylvania's USSC Group. venom_20
yes, they problably are the same seats. i was doing a little bit of research last night, and i found out that in the 2006 order of new flyers, cta is only going to use those seats. in 2006 they are going to get rid of the orion 1's that they have purchased from pace, because of the new flyer order. Busjack
While the Orion Is are going, they are not replaced by the New Flyers. CTA took bids on 30 foot buses, but hasn't announced an award on them.
Buslover88
I didn't even know that CTA took a bid. Cool!
