X99 - Chicago Manufacturing Campus Express

It was basically to serve the supplier complex east of the Hegewisch Ford plant. Besides the problem supposed cited (flex shifts), it was a low productivity route. Apparently, if you work in the auto industry, you have a car. Not to mention Ford's recent troubles.

I remember this route, it didn't run for too long due to very low ridership.

Here are 2 press releases from CTA:

Those were the only things I could find. But, what was the actual routing? What were the stops? Was it a 103rd route? What buses did it run with?

The X99 was carried by 103rd Garage.

The route started at 95th & State Red Line Station. The route went via 95th Street, Michigan, 103rd Street, Torrence, 126th Street, Burley Avenue, 123rd Street, Avenue O and back to 126th to go back towards the Red Line.

The Stops were the Red Line, 95th & Michigan, 103rd & Michigan, 103rd & Cottage Grove, 103rd Garage, 103rd & Yates, 103rd & Torrence, 106th & Torrence, 112th & Torrence and 123rd & Avenue O at the Campus near the Ford Plant.

This route was obviously a shift change route so they had the route running during both rush hour periods (4:40am-6:45am & 2:00pm-5:15pm) and during the late night hours at roughly 11:30pm till about 1:15am.

At first I thought this route lasted only 2 Picks but I also remember that August 30th, 2004 bus assignment period lasted until the end of January of 2005 and I thought that route ended at that time when that new pick went into effect. But After reading that second press release posted above, the route lasted almost 11 months.

When I saw the buses when they were running the PM rush, I remember seeing a TMC running the X99 but I dunno if they were using an Artic for that route.
