Bus out of place

Wednesday night on a trip to South Chicago (around 5 pm), I spotted 1076 operating on the

79 at Exchange headed for Ford City. It did have a 77th run in the box. Probably

a loaner....unless we have more erratic swapping going on !!!!!

I thought Chicago only sent NFs 1082-1121 to 74th unless Chicago sent down a few more after September. I wouldn't be surprised. It's already been reported through actual sightings and Bustracker sightings that over the past couple weeks 6004, 1725, 1728 and 1730 have popped up on 74th routes. Now in the last couple days, 6000 and 1729 have shown up at 74th also.

bus 1076 is not out of 74th. that is chicago s bus.but the erratic swapping is still going on so if you see a optima bus on rte 79 or a new flyer on rte 80 dont be surprised.

A Optima on 79 would be a real bummer, but it has been reported on other heavy routes, too.

There is always the possibility that the bus was at 77th for work and found its

way out onto the street for the evening rush. That, in part, is why I referred to

it as perhaps a loaner. In any event, the $$$$ wasting continues on (in other

places) and now all riders have to pay for it.

Most likely the case, if you look hard enough you can spot the extra buses quite a bit from 77th. Last week #1018 was on the #1. The next day it was back on the #76. Also #6697 was on the #2 which usually runs alot of the spare buses.
