Nice pics! Would you happen to remember how many seats the bus had? Gene King
Busjack
At least it proves CTA knew that it existed, but bought NABI nonetheless.
BusHunter
I was digging through some of my older photos and decided to share these. Photo's taken in the yard at North Park Garage in 1997. That's interesting. I once stated I saw on here a NF artic demo in 1997 myself, (it actually ran in service as a #152 school run)but the bus had slight differences than the one pictured. The bus had 3 doors like this one, but had more orange in the rear and a CTA livery on the front half of the bus. At the time it looked so much like a #5800 from the front it could have been mistaken for one. On the bus were 2 NF reps, one had a NF shirt on with the NF logo on it. All the doors were strictly driver operated like the newer type Pace buses, but the second door was cut off. Wow that's a rare picture, another one I thought I'd never see. If you have that you probably have the two tone green NF demo bus (40 footer) that was was the test bus for the new low floor design. It ran mostly on the #21 for about 3 or 4 weeks in I believe 1992. I did see the bus on the #54 one weekend though. That was all ran through Lawndale back then. Who wouldve thought it would take 12 years before we would see one in the CTA fleet.
MT0851
I'm pretty sure that bus is the original D60LF demo built in 1995 that is now operated by Strathcona Transit in Alberta, Canada.
Anonymous Guy
I'm pretty sure that bus is the original D60LF demo built in 1995 that is now operated by Strathcona Transit in Alberta, Canada. The D60LF demo has some features from the old 1995 40 ft. low-floor New Flyers and only two doors.
