artthouwill
During the A.m. rush, X3 trips terminate at Michigan/Delaware, unlike the local 3 which goes to Chicago and Fairbanks. Where are these buses going after they terminate? Are they going north and returning as 151s? I remember once apon a time there were 3s starting at LaSalle and North going to 95th. I also remember once upon a time the 2 Hyde Park EXp would terminate at Michigan/Walton, then deadhead up to Belmont and return as 151s terminating at Michigan/Congress. What is confusing is that even the late rush X3s, buses that are still on the south side after 9 a.m. are terminating at Michigan/Delaware. Certainly by that time they shouldn't be deadheading north anywhere.
Busjack
Don't have anything definitive, but, most 3s from North Ave. follow the timepoint for X3 to Delaware by about 15-20 minutes. There are a few X3s that don't correspond. The 3 schedule doesn't have any morning buses ending at North Ave., and the Northbound frequency is not enough to correspond to the southbound. BusExpert32
The #3 and #X3 terminate at North Ave??? This is relevant to Pace???
chgofan78
I remember that...it was when 77th garage ran the Belmont trips instead of Kedzie garage. I forgot at one point 77th ran trips on the #151 and #145. I believe they were only AM rush trips.
artthouwill
The #3 and #X3 terminate at North Ave??? This is relevant to Pace??? No. I created a new post after responding to a post that was Pace related. I didn't realize I had to completely pop out of that before creating a new thread. In the words of Anita Baker, " I apologize."

Certainly by that time they shouldn't be deadheading north anywhere. The X3 KING DRIVE EXPRESS, after it terminates at Michigan/Delware, goes to North Avenue/LaSalle Drive on the west side of the street to report with the supervisor that is normally station there. Selected trips return to Michigan Avenue, via North, LaSalle Dr., Lake Shore Drive, Michigan, and begin their trips southbound as 3 KING DRIVE to 95th. Other trips return to the 77th street garage. rmadisonwi
1) The buses don't go to North & LaSalle. They sit on Inner Lake Shore Drive between LaSalle Drive and what would be North Avenue (if North Avenue were to actually intersect, which it doesn't). However, if that's what you meant by "North Avenue/LaSalle Drive" then 2) there ain't no supervisor there. Also, regularly scheduled runs generally don't have to report with a supervisor anywhere unless there's a specific reason for them to. The buses that head north as an X3 already have their next trip determined by the schedule. The only reason a supervisor would intervene would be if that bus was needed elsewhere due to some unforeseen circumstance.
