Busjack
Uh Busjack, 57th and Stony Island isn't a half mile from the Museum's front door. It takes just a little bit longer to walk there than it would to the 56th/Hyde Park bus stop if you were going to use the 6 as an alternative to the 10 which I think RJL was getting at. The new parking garage entrance on Cornell Drive that lines up with 57th Street makes it impossible to cut across. So, basically one would have to use the entryway to walk to approximately 57th Drive and Hyde Park, and then arc around 57th Drive. Could be done, but not worth it. Anyway, in this weather, 10 runs weekends only, so fairly moot. Also, trainman is probably punching their tickets on the ME.

I was just using it as a reference for the walking distance over to 57th/Stony Island to catch the 6 there which is what I do during this time of year when there is no weekday service on the 10. Instead of cutting across the parking lot or arcing around as you mentioned, just use the sidewalk right out front, cross Cornell Drive and then the short walkway in the park which isn't even a quarter block long to Stony.

I was referring to the reverse theory that someone would use the 10 instead of the 6, not that during the weekdays one has to use the 6 because the 10 is not running. Then in that case, I can see it from the standpoint of the intent being to reach the 55 when there's more service on the 10 outside of reaching the Museum a little quicker. dre_cta6221
I didn't know that 77th had runs on the 112 Vincennes
sw4400
I know FG shares Lincoln and a few days ago, around 6:30ish in the evening, I checked bustracker NB and saw three buses heading to Howard/McCormick... 6708, 1901?, and 6718. This was the first time I've seen NOVA's assigned to Lincoln since Archer closed and FG started sharing #11.

jajuan
I didn't know that 77th had runs on the 112 Vincennes Yes apparently a number of routes at 95th/Dan Ryan now are shared by 77th and 103rd for a few runs. That interline mentioned between those routes makes it likely for 77th buses to be seen on quite a number of them though 103rd is still the primary garage from what I've seen since the Feb 7th shakeup. No wonder that someone mentioned few weeks ago that he/she had saw an Nova on #112.
