I look at them and it brings back the memories of pulling those things around and a driver testing the seat out getting scared when another pulled the seat back pretty damn far. They are just so flimsy. The only benefit if you can call it that is the flex does make for a better ride! :P

Those seats are really flimsy they are going to be a disaster in regular service the kids will probably have fun breaking the seat backs off of them. So get reaby to stand a lot more on CTA buses this year

When I read the article I thought back to 1996 when I visited San Diego. I noted  San Diego Transit buses had full width padded seats. There were also signs on the buses saying that undercover police were watching for vandals. I mention this because the "bucket" type seat has difficulty holding the expanding American behind.

Cheers to the service boards for attempting to do something to benefit rider "comfort", although their means for doing so, as usual, fall short. And what really gets me is that the officials are so proud of that junk !!!! Shows they don't ride very often.

I'd still take more narrow over wider if they just put more of em on the bus !!!!!!!
