sw4400
A little something to lighten the mood here... Looks like Mario has to save the Princess from Bowser yet again... Only thing, he must travel all eight CTA "L" lines and defeat the seven Koopa Kids, who each command a "L" Line and find Bowser at the end of the Yellow Line in Skokie after collecting each of the other colored Ventra Cards to gain access to the Yellow Line... *Beep Beep Beep* "Attention Customers: We are being delayed because of Koopas on the train. A Plumber is on his way to correct the problem, and we expect to be moving shortly." Super Mario Bros: An "L" Of A World!!! Blue Ventra(Iggy Koopa) Location: O-Hare Red Ventra(Morton Koopa Jr.) Location: 95th/Dan Ryan Brown Ventra(Lemmy Koopa) Location: Kimball Green Ventra(Ludwig Von Koopa) Location: Ashland/63rd Orange Ventra(Roy Koopa) Location: Midway Pink Ventra(Wendy O' Koopa) Location: 54th/Cermak Purple Ventra(Larry Koopa) Location: Linden Princess Peach(Bowser) Location: Dempster/Skokie The other Fortresses on the map have a Mid-Boss called Boom-Boom in them(SMB 3 fans will know what I'm talking about). The turtles walking around on the map with those little black hammers are called Hammer Bros. The castle in the "Loop Detail" box is Princess Peach's Castle. Photo copyrighted to Chicagoist®. Busjack
It seems like a whole bunch of green umpaloopas (or whatever) are in South Chicago and Hegewisch, which, someone else points out, does not have L service. Heck of a lot of them in Niles, too.
sw4400
Those are trees. In the SMB and SMW maps, trees were common. They're just there to make the map look more Mario-ish.

I suppose there are those in the forest preserves, but I didn't consider Hegewisch to be one.
Busjack
What are the brown things in West Ridge and North Park (or maybe Sauganash)?
Railwaymodeler
Rocks. I think I have an idea for a Super Mario clone. Lots of them out there, this would be a great idea!
sw4400
The things near the "Elbow" of the Yellow Line are rocks. Commonly seen on the SMB3 map screen.
sw4400
The "N" on the spade card is the compass. The "N" Spade card was commonly used in SMB3 as a special Bonus Game area. The little castles at the end of the lines would be where you would find the Koopalings I put above with the Ventra Cards. I'll specify where, because there are extra ones on the map. Busjack
... I think I have an idea for a Super Mario clone. Lots of them out there, this would be a great idea! Even a better idea, if the idea is to mimic an 8 bit screen: Have Fix it Felix fix the Red Line, while Wreck it Ralph wrecks the rest of the system, and see who accomplishes the most. I bet Wreck it Ralph. I haven't figured out what Vanellope Von Schweetz will do. Maybe open a doughnut shop in a station. Of course, Sgt. Calhoun (Jane Lynch) would come in from Dolton to cause all sorts of havoc.
BusHunter
CTA needs a Super Mario (plumber) with all the problems i've seen lately. The O' Hare subway has a bad leak right over the first crossover. (wonder what that's doing to the switch mechanisms) They never fixed the bad leak at Belmont/blue that caused a fire recently. (Probably cost too much to fix, but maybe he's not a structural repair specialist, maybe that's Luigi's background) Something more up his alley, I've noticed is at Addison/cumberland turnaround, there using a port-o-potty from oui oui (if you know French, I studied it in high school, then you know why that name pronunciation makes me laugh) I hope he has his own company, sounds like he needs alot of help. OT: It was a terrible movie, but Bob Hoskins did an amazing job as Mario. Hoskins and the late Dennis Hopper were good in it, but the story and direction was horrible. They were the true highlights of the film.

Or Green Ghosts. BTW, how many bits are game systems now?
