Well it appears we are down to the final 10 Allison's in service, so get those final rides in while you can. #1982 and #2001 haven't been active since early Oct and are presumed to be retired. A true end of an era, those Allison transmissions were powerful on take off. The only thing I won't miss is the bowling alley seat design. 😅

Especially before the rehabs, I have definitely heard the howling during the acceleration growing up. Found a pic of #1937 at one of the New Flyer factories including this one in Minnesota. Not my pic but credits to the original owner. I’m pretty sure the entire orders 1000-2029, 800-809, 900-909 and 4000-4207 were made between multiple factories across the country instead of all in one facility which explains how they were delivered so fast compared to Nova. I know for a fact the 900s were made in the New Flyer facility in Canada. While the 800s I believe came from the one in Dakota. Not entirely sure.

Neither 1982 or 2001 are retired they both returned this afternoon. The total is still 12.

A trip to the boneyard confirms 1760 has been retired

 

The shop guys were towing 1914 around to the fuel bay where they started the bus up and left it running in the oil bay for about five minutes.

Only reason I’m doing this is because there’s barely any updates on what’s in the boneyard and in SS outside of street view and I’m like the only one who’s getting information now.

Trust me there hasn't been that much activity in the last few weeks, the current number of #1000s left active currently sits at 680 while the current total active not OOS sits at 625. #1660, #1719, #1760, #1789, #1822, and #2024 recently getting sidelined brings the last total I had of 686 down to 680. Now we have 55 #1000s that are either OOS or not tracking at the current moment.

Yeah I believe you it looks like they ended up retiring 1718-1719 together

I see, this is the second time 1718 is at the south fence in 30 days so that’s a no-brainer it’s retired, just didn’t get the sticker or fare system removal yet

#1719 and #1750 have returned to service.

#1022 has been taken OOS for the foreseeable future and being used as a replacement for #6770’s job being a yard bus at FG, #1630 has been taken off of FG’s active roster and being converted into a instruction bus.
