krzysiu221322
I was going to post this in the "Random CTA" thread, but I saw that it was closed. How has the arrangement of buses at Jefferson Park changed over the years? I remember in the late 2000's (around 2006 through 2010), the #88 bus picked up passengers from the north terminal. Its now at the south terminal. What other changes have there been over the years? Does anyone from the forum have older photos of the sign shown below? All I can say is that the 56, 56A and 270 ( and the Express) used to pick up in the South Terminal but now the 270 and Pulse Milwaukee pick up in the North terminal. I think the changes coincided with a bus Terminal rehab though I don't remember exactly what year.

There used to be a 270 Express, which wasn't supposed to pick up SB or drop off NB south of Devon

pudgym29
Back in the late 1970s, just when it became possible to ride a Nortran bus on a CTA Sunday Supertransfer, the transfer point at the Jefferson Park transit center was situated that the CTA route #56A north Milwaukee bus was in the same leaf as the #56 Milwaukee bus (both in the southbound leaf)(I apologize- but I can't comprehend a better noun than "leaf".), I had to walk from the southerly transfer point to the northerly transfer point. I rode the Nortran route 270 bus to a number of venues in the near northwestern suburbs, including that where after I won the weekly football pool my dad ran, I bought a Japanese pachinko machine alledgedly from a parlor in (somewhere) in Tokyo. In a trend-setting pattern, I managed to get the contraption onto a route 270 bus back to Chicago and the abode, That contraption still exists on the inside back porch here at the abode.
