busfan4022 Posted September 5, 2006 Report Posted September 5, 2006 Will The 103rd Garage Get The Optional Bus Yes, and the other garges with the 5300's Quote
trainman8119 Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 I have seen 1198 also...funny, the destination sign was out. Looks like it was on the 124 though today. I get to ride them across the loop 3 or 4 times a week now. I can say that they are the best buses I have seen come into town in a long time. They ride smooth, for the most part are quiet (yes I know they are new) and are just a joy to ride on.. I just love these things !!!!! Best new buses since the Pace Orion 8700's came into town. Quote
pace2322 Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Nothing can be as good as the Orion 8700s.There were the best bus pace will ever have. And there will be nothing as good as them. Quote
Busjack Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Yes, and the other garges with the 5300's As I have frequently asked, how do you know? Quote
busfan4022 Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 As I have frequently asked, how do you know? I have a brain, thats how i know. Now the 5300's series is being retired right? So the garges with the most of these buses will be short a few, that means the New flyer buses will be filling in there places. I was annoced on Connections. Maybe not all the garges will receive them, but i know for sure 77th will. Quote
Busjack Posted September 6, 2006 Report Posted September 6, 2006 Again, how do you know for sure? Do you have connections with the CTA? Know Dick Winston? Or is it an inference like SW's that might work out? Quote
busfan4022 Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 This is irritating. If you can find someway to prove me wrong, than by all means. There is no point of keeping this up. I'm done. Quote
trainman8119 Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 Remember, boys, when you think you have it figured out, you don't. And by all means....remember the golden transportation rule...if it makes sense, it doesn't happen. Quote
rmadisonwi Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 I'd like to know what an "Optional Bus" is. For that matter, is there such thing as a "Mandatory Bus" or something similar? Quote
trainman8119 Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 I'd like to know what an "Optional Bus" is. For that matter, is there such thing as a "Mandatory Bus" or something similar? I do believe that is O-P-T-I-M-A But then, I think you already (or should have) knew that. Quote
busfan4022 Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 I do believe that is O-P-T-I-M-A But then, I think you already (or should have) knew that. He is talking about the optional buses/ New Flyers (1000) series. Quote
