pudgym29
I searched and searched. I still expect to see a response subsequently reading, "Why didn't you just...". I (and likely you) know there are Authority bus routes where it wants to assign its newest buses (the #8350+ new Nova buses). What I've been led to believe is that certain routes like #56 Milwaukee, #54 Cicero, and #53 Pulaski have codicils to run only the 8350+ vehicles. But - Tuesday night, I was out-&-about @ Hopewell Brwg. on N. Milwaukee Ave., and I definitely viewed two New Flyer buses running on #56 Milwaukee. (Do not DARE to give me snark, "Are you sure they weren't on #76 Diversey?" They were not.) Anyhow, I go through all this preconditioning to query, "Is this Authority codicil now outdated? Can formerly-preferred "Nova-only" bus routes now get assigned New Flyers?" Members currently at Authority garages, please respond affirmatively or negatively. Erin Mishkin Jr.
Now that makes sense and explains why there’s a flyer on the 85A every morning with the 91 block. Now what’s the reason for putting the 90 and the rest of the 88/68/81W/85A all novas (except 68 school runs which often uses flyers that move to other routes)? Way before HQ was at 567, albino New Looks did not run on 56.

I tried pulling out a flyer on a Saturday morning and did one full trip before a supervisor stopped me and made me switch with a Addison pull out. From motorcoach experience, Prevost had better turning radius than MCIs. In fact, Eagles and VanHools do too . It would be reasonable to expect Novas to turn tighter than New Flyers. The sad part is that these New Flyers predate NFI's ownership of MCI.. NEITHER company was known for making very tight turns unless you first swung out. Eagles had the best turn radius ever.
