Jay Brown Posted September 22 Report Posted September 22 Does anyone have any pics of CTA bus stop signs in the 70s 80s and 90s and even the early 2000s. Not in a store, like pics of the signs outside on the poles? Quote

Jay Brown Posted September 24 Author Report Posted September 24 Yes I have got most signs but it's still many missing. I'm trying to ask everyone, even the OG's lol I can't find the 4A Pullman signs either Quote

The reason I mention that is that 4A would have been after the 95th/Dan Ryan station opened,as before then 4 was Cottage Grove-115 (which was reinstated some 50 years later). That search also has an example of a 127, 136 sign made obsolete in 1972 when many duplicative boulevard routes were canceled, a 24 Wentworth sign with the 24 on tape, indicating that the sign spanned the approximately 1976 renumbering (24 was previously 22A), and a typical reverse type express sign. Jay Brown Posted September 24 Author Report Posted September 24 I believe I have pics of the 55, but not the Blue sign with no speed lines. For example of what I have, can't find the first Blue sign of the Broadway sign Quote

There's some from old areas I wish I could have captured to help add to what you're trying to do on Facebook. The 67/N5 and 95E combos were unique and more informative. They had a 3L sign on St Lawrence that was still up even years after X3 was created! Quote
Jay Brown Posted September 26 Author Report Posted September 26 Oh wow and oh ok I understand but I'm not gonna give up. I can't even find route 89 North Kedzie sign and the bus. Not a Clear route 95W, a old version. I found this off the CTA connections TV show but wish it was more clear Quote
dailycommuter62 Posted September 26 Report Posted September 26 If i remember these were put up at temporary stops or placeholders going well into the 2000s Quote
Jay Brown Posted September 26 Author Report Posted September 26 Yes I definitely seen those on pics, that CTA logo is what I love, that is before and during speed lines. I can't even find the 14 South Lake Shore Express but one in someone's office with the 6 Jeffery Express Quote

The only places I've seen 14 with its own sign is on Monroe before Loop Link put it back on Washington Quote
Jay Brown Posted September 26 Author Report Posted September 26 The Jeffery Jump yea but it doesn't have it no more. Now it should on 67th and Jeffery but nope. If only I can go back in time ugh Quote

I've been trying to find the old solo 14 sign as well let alone find a picture with a bus on that route. Quote
Jay Brown Posted September 28 Author Report Posted September 28 Yes I seen that one, trying to find a pic of it outside on the pole mainly. Quote
pudgym29 Posted October 1 Report Posted October 1 Here is a bus stop sign of eastbound #76 Diversey on the southwest corner of Diversey and Laramie. It was taken in January 2010, but the bus stop sign still shows the rush-hour routing via Wrightwood Ave. 😮 Quote
Jay Brown Posted October 1 Author Report Posted October 1 I appreciate it and you see the CTA logo has the speed lines, trying to find the one without the speed lines for all routes and even discontinued ones. If you have any more or know anyone that should plz show me Quote
Jay Brown Posted October 3 Author Report Posted October 3 I posted this before but if anyone Has any pics of CTA bus stop signs taken (Outside) like you at the bus stop. Plz show me. The 70s 80s and 90s plz. And even discontinued ones like the x98, 168 ect. I found this of route 28 Stony Island but it's too far away in the picture. Someone out there has to have pics 😔 Quote
