How about Forest Glen trade those hideous looking Optimas for the Flxible 6300s! That would be awesome!
How about trading the Optimas to 77th? It appears that Route 6 has lost all of its articulateds. Why not cram the riders in more?

Also, there will be a few more available, if Hammond Transit stops operations, as threatened.

Ever see the Stallone movie "Nighthawks"? Remember that GMC fishbowl they jumped into the river?. I wish that on all the Optimas! Get em outta here!! Sink em all!! Buses 500-544 assigned to the bottom of Lake Michigan. :) Hehehehe!!!! Sorry guys but I never liked those buses.

Well in that case, one less SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for us to worry about!
Especially if you are from Chicago Garage. :lol:

Also, the Saturday procedure is currently out of service. "No service is provided on any HTS route on Saturdays, Sundays, or Holidays." Apparently Pace 364 didn't get the message.

How about trading those optimas 500s to Pace Southwest/ North Shore for Nova Classics or maybe to NYCMTA for Nova RTSes???

They should some Cummings to Kedzie, Chicago and Forest Glen for their 6000s.

for all I care, Kedzie can have all of the Cummins Flxs numbered 6305 and over, as long as we get the first order of 95 Flxs.

PS: how come the 5800 NFs,6000 Flxs, and the 7500 NABIs all sound alike ???

How about no more beat up buses getting dumped at Kedzie and try holding assignments stable while fitting what small number of 4000s and 1000s remaining where needed. I like the Cummins Flx's and all but they were never rehabbed.

it is rehabbed,it has the LED Signs,but they never changed the wallpaper.

Changing signs does not a rehab make (and was done, in this case, pretty much before the rehab). The question is whether they got any powertrain work.

As Busjack points out, getting the LED sign does not prove rehab. On the rehabbed 6000s, the exterior was repainted, LED brake lights were installed, new seating covers were put in and you could hear the difference in how the engine sounded compared to pre-rehab. With the Cummins, the only noticeable difference is the front destination sign. Everything else was pretty much the same..

why did the Novas leave Chicago,did they get transfered to 77th ?

They all went to Archer with some going to Forest Glen, as a "cost-saving" move back when Huberman was still president of the CTA, although with all the other moves the CTA is currently making, doesn't look like they saved much.
