ThirdRailVision
Hello all, Any word on whether or not there will be an IRM Snowflake Special excursion on the CTA this year? Thanks.

The 2400s seem to be stealing the spotlight for most of the CTA special events and charters.
r-schauer
Yes, at long last, the "Straight Out of the 70s" excursion is on! This is the trip that had to be cancelled last year due to the Skokie Swift closure. The trip will leave from Dempster-Skokie at 8:45 am on Sunday, April 3. We'll visit the north, south, west, and northwest sides of the city in CTA's historically painted 2400 series cars. Lunch is on your own in the Loop, for which you'll be given an hour. We'll finish up back at Dempster St. about 6:00 pm. Come dressed in your best 70s fashions and you may win a prize! Tickets are on sale now in the Museum Store. Scionic
Unless I'm blind, the entry on the IRM website doesn't have the date of the event listed on it.
chgofan78
Just went past Skokie and the wonderful graffiti artists have struck again- this time on the historic 2400s. You would think by now and as often as it happens that some kind of new security methods would've been implemented.

r-schauer
Hello folks- Tickets are selling fast for the Straight Out of the 70s excursion on Sunday, April 3rd. As of this morning, only 50 are left and there's almost a month until the trip. I'd say a sell-out is quite likely and those who wait much longer won't be riding! Here's the link to IRM's site with more information about the trip, with a link on that page to buy tickets: http://www.irm.org/events/ctacharter.html Thanks, R. W.
