Guest
Also, that's the one where the driver knocked the front in by hitting a viaduct cantilevered support and was killed. That bus is not coming back, but probably is spending the rest of its FTA life in the yards. But, I guess that word doesn't get to Jersey or the Bronx, while the roster does. All the wrecks rust away down at South Shops, 77/Vincennes.
mikeymc77
Ive never seen #6832 there. I remember the buses that were wrecked years ago sat outside for a long time. #4636 and #5530 are two that come to mind
ArcherRider
So will be Nova Bus #6568 out of Archer Garage will still at South Shops until retirement or rebuilt that bus that was in accident at Pulaski and Archer?
cta_44499_FG
It was probably just extra service both thursday and friday 10's were rolling with Chicago buses #1988, #1908 and #1336 or 8 and #1449 among others. Today though they are Kedzie buses (#1227 among them. ) As it was probably said the 10 is seeing extra service out of Chicago garage. The route cannot just get up and CHANGE garages....if this were the case by contract CTA would have to have a System Pick....this has not happened. BusHunter
Hey all, thanks for those that continually contribute to the information, we have been able to keep somewhat of an accurate account of what buses are where... CTA Garage Assignment Roster The said roster was updated earlier today. #6239 is at 103rd too. It seems to be missing on your roster as if retired, but it shouldn't be. Other than that, it looks good.

Speaking of which, this route should now be on its summer schedule of weekday as well as weekend/holiday service as of Saturday per the alerts page on the CTA website, and Bustracker is showing zero buses in service. NYC TransitMan
Hey guys! It's been a while and I must tell you that I like those New Flyer DE60LFs you have. I wish the MTA would get them but that's a whole other dicussion. Anyways, the roster at TTMG has been updated. Thanks for those that continually contribute to the information. Here's the link: http://www.ttmg.org/mediawiki/index.php?ti...oster_%28CTA%29 I've even put another good word in for you guys here on the TTMG forum. jajuan
One other correction. Route 127 hasn't existed for over a year. One thing I find interesting is that according to this list Kedzie now operates more buses than NP with Kedzie at 287 buses to NP's 260. In fact this list shows Kedzie with the most buses assigned at this point. I remember when the TMCs and 5300s were here when we speaking of NP having upwards of 440 buses. Have a great day and God Bless! #6470 is appearing at Archer and 77th on your list. Today it's running on the #6. (in other words it's at 77th) also #4053, #4073 -#4081 odds are shown at NP. These are Kedzie buses now.

jajuan
So is that correct? Should North Park be operating more buses than Kedzie? Not necessarily. It was just an interesting observation of mine because North Park has a significantly bigger bus capacity than Kedzie. From what I've been seeing, your totals at least may be correct for those two, for the time being with the reassignments going on again to make room for the additional DE60LFs up to 4169 so far as mentioned by fellow forum members. Being in no position to comment on particular fleet numbers, but it does seem like K is up (especially with regard to 6000s), and P is down, despite having received the most recent 4000s. If K has 280 some buses, among them about 50 artics (which spacewise count as 75; resulting in a space requirement of 305, and more to come), and a capacity of 250, something is off, unless buses are roaming the streets zombielike at night, because they can't go home. As BusHunter indicates, that may result in 6000s now rapidly getting crushed, either directly from K or moving more 1000s to FG. However, it doesn't seem like there is the garage space to maintain the status quo much longer.

We probably won't see it in service until friday at the earliest. All these new arrivals should bring about some more transfers by this weekend. From what I figure, if NP can get #4170 - #4172 out by tomorrow, they should have about 7 buses surplus which means they wouldn't need anything below #4096. Fg could get at least 7 more #1000's from Kedzie which could put them around #1208 unless they skip a few titan buses.

With regard to that, I suppose the real issue is the contract with Titan (which we don't have). Also, there doesn't seem to be anything preventing moving the sign boards to a different bus. They also could get adequate exposure if the buses are assigned to heavy routes, such as 77, 80, and 81.

I think there are cuts made into the body panels to make those fit into place, so they sit like in a cradle. If you look at one close up you can see where they cut into the plastic moldings at the bottom (the ones that are placed over the metal body to prevent rust. Occasionally one will pop off and you can see the metal underneath it. ) So i don't know if they can really be removed without revealing a few scars to the bus. A lot still get parked outside in front of the garage and in the employee lot on the south end of the garage. The 6000s seem to still be holding steady at about 53 or 54, whichever was the last count. To me they seem to have been spread thin nof lateperhaps from being used on a few more routes than before. In regards to 4176, yes it is here. It was in service today on a downtown route earlier today during PM rush, though I'm not sure which one because at the time I saw it, it was deadheading southbound on the Drive into downtown when I was riding the 136. You can even read the fleet numbers on the roofs, when you zoom it to this degree. I wonder how long it will take to update that.
