I'll echo my comments here as I did on Facebook: I ain't mad at it.

Me thinks they're streamlining costs by using the MCI headlights instead of the Excelsiors.

It seems like New Flyer and MCI shae a lot of things as does Volvo with Novabus and Prevost.   The turn signals are the same on New Flyers and MCIs.  The turn signals are the same on Novas and Prevost.  The Excelsior have the notorious " MCI lean" whe making turns, especially the right turns.  The brakes sound the same on both models.  The Novas and Prevost have a tighter turn radii than their NewFlyerMCI counterparts.   From a financial standpoint it makes total sense to utilize certain parts across multiple platforms.

I don't think your friend has anything original. New Flyer has had a picture like that on its website for 3 or 4 years.

Well, what do you expect? In each case, one is the parent company of the other. No different than all GM cars since about 1976 are about the same, or that Ram vans and Jeep Cherokees are on Fiat platforms.

Soon to be 2nd generation model for the future to come. Hopefully they will redesign the front and rear of their 2nd Gen Xcelsiors for their next launch at one of NFI dealerships including overseas market and Puerto Rico as well.
