Of course, the bus needs to be running...you want might want to look into that. Then you need to push the nice 'N' button to put the gear selection in neutral. Then you need to pull the parking brake, and voila....the bus is idling! If you want it to idle even louder flip the nice fast idle switch. A device called the Idleographathingabobinexpiadadocuous controls idling in most engines in use today... in the DELF's that we have it's a Voltageidleographatingamabobinexpiadadocuouszapper. This device is unique... not only does it keep the engine idling, but it keeps the electric pods charged. What Makes a bus idle? Well, first, as cta_44499_FG says, you need fuel in the engine, the engine must be running, bus must be in "N" with parking brake on(we would'nt want that heavy bus rolling away, would we?). Fast idle makes louder idle, and if you hold the gas pedal to the floor, you make SUPER LOUD idle(although this could cause hearing damage to people near the bus, and damage the engine).
