Buslover88
Does anybody have Photos of the 1979 M.A.N. Series? Because I would like to see them.
buslist
[attachment=81]OK here you go, these really shouldn't be called MANs as the order was placed with AM General (Mr. Web Master pleaswe correct your roster). Taken at 51st. and Saint Louis, the former ETB loop, don't have the slide handy to confirm date, but its looks new. My photo.
Busjack
AM General did the final assembly, but they are MANs, as indicated by the logo on the side.
sw4400
Did the rear wheels turn as well? It looks like the rear right wheel is kinda turned. Maybe it's just the photo, though... Off Topic- Does anyone have a pic of a Flyer D901 in the Green&White livery?
trainman8119
The rear wheels did turn on the MAN artics, unlike the NABI's

Looking at the photo closely, the front says AM General, but the side says M.A.N. Very confusing bus!!! You don't know whether it's a M.A.N or a AM General. buslist
Its a MAN design assembled by AMGeneral, I believe that the actual sale was by AMGeneral as under FTA buy America Rules, as I understand them, a American company is supposed to be the supplier (Note that later MAN set-up an American subsidiary but didn't have one then.) But they did carry MAN model #s and Serial #.
RIPTA42
Remember also that in Europe, it's common for a bus to have different manufacturers for the body an chassis, much like American school buses (e.g., a Thomas body on a Navistar chassis).
