Busjack
Are you speaking about the big delays I heard about in the last week or so from the city papers because of apparent equipment and signal problems? No, today according to the Tribune's Breaking News. Sounds about the same as the report of Jan. 16, though.
jajuan
No, today according to the Tribune's Breaking News. Sounds about the same as the report of Jan. 16, though. Well either way despite sw's motives for making this thread as a courtesy for other members, it's still more CTA's responsibility to get word of any delays out through their website and other appropriate avenues such as local media. sw4400
1/26/13 2:54p ***Special Weather Bulletin*** Significant ice accumulation is forecasted for Chicago in excess of a quarter-inch. While "L" lines are equipped with de-icing equipment, delays and disruptions in "L" service could be possible during Sunday rail service. I will try to post alerts as I see them on here. Chicagobus.org members are also welcome to do so... this is everybody's forum, not just mine.Post-Storm Update 1/28/13 2:05p: Rail service ran pretty smoothly during our freezing rain event yesterday. The only blemish was two malfunctioning trains on the Green Line that caused Major Delays. Speculation since six of the eight rail lines run on elevated platforms throughout the system and none of them had problems, the 5000-Series were having trouble getting electrical power during the ice storm(as these were the trains identified by ChicagoNova http://forum.chicagobus.org/topic/1796-5000s-arrive/page__view__findpost__p__42678"]here, possibly creating a serious disruption to service issue if the problem isn't found and resolved soon. None of the 5000's assigned to the Pink Line or Red Line had any known difficulties that caused service interruptions throughout the ice storm. South of Sedgwick, the #37A will operate as a #37, making all stops. #37A buses begin/end at Adams St. Additional bus service will also operate on the #22 Clark during A.M and P.M rush periods and northbound on the #146 Michigan/Inner Drive Express and #147 Outer Drive Express in the P.M rush period only. A Loop Shuttle Train will also operate continuously around the Loop "L" making all stops on the Brown Line side during all hours when the Brown Line serves the Loop. Mid-day and Evening Service(Weekday): Brown Line trains will operate at a reduced frequency(10-12 min) during these hours between Kimball and Merchandise Mart only. Late Evening Service(Weekday): Brown Line trains will only operate between Kimball and Chicago after 10p to allow for track replacement on the curve over Hubbard St. Wells St. Shutdown
