1000-series D40LF - Updates & Retirements

That's really rare to see Chicago's 1400s mechanically rehabbed.

So by chance I get another ride on #1438, I notice it has the updated clever devices, the seats look new and it has the opening panel over the front wheel well. It has no exterior upgrades. #1433 is exactly the same as this bus. So I guess I will add #1438 to the list. I saw #1455, but took it for granted not seeing any exterior upgrades that it was not mechanically rehabbed. I'm going to have to check out that bus because it may be that way also.

#1044's rehabbed on the #66 at michigan eb but it's a ghost bus. #1455 is just like #1433 so I'll have to include it in the list. #1023 on the #29 was a ghost bus the other day. I was wondering why I hadn't seen it. I'm starting to wonder if #1458's a ghost bus. That's another I haven't seen lately. Maybe garmon knows he saw it.

I already mentioned that #1458 is fully rehabbed.

#1020, #1425, #1489, and #1505 are rehabbed. All idled at South Shop. #1549 and #1638 may be in the process of being rehabbed because of the kneeling decals, numbers on the sides and the back paint on their sides are stripped (Shot of #1549). #1256 and #1485 are questionable.

I might have seen rehabbed #1380 on the #93 but I'm not sure yet.Have you seen #1553 at south shops. I haven't seen that bus in service in about 6-8 weeks. Seems to be one of the only rehabbed buses that's not out there. Currently I'm on #1595, a pretty new rehab and the transmission sounds terrible like it's grinding or needs oiling or something.
