busfan2847
Leaving Union station on the BNSF last night MARC Kawasaki cars 7802, 7804, 7833, 7834 were next to the Amtrak yard. Any idea why?

Any idea why? Maybe Metra is taking west towns' suggestion to test a different type of equipment. Wikipedia notes they are "Scheduled to undergo minor overhaul by Bombardier", so a more likely explanation is they are in transit to/from the Bombardier facility. west towns
Wow metra listened to me lol. Since marc is east coast bobardier is east coast i doubt tbey are on way to some contractor in midwstor west. If they are across fr amyrak that puts them in bnsf yard. Very interesting

Unfortunately neither Wikipedia or the MTA official release didn't state what was being done to the cars, or where the work was taking place. Too bad, I was kind of interested. west towns
Just read on trainorders.com the marc cars left chicago on #5 going west . Rumor has it they are going to Pueblo for testi g with spinter electric locomotives. I thought Marc was buying diesel engines?

west towns
The colorado test is with siemens diesels. I recall readimg that Marc didmt want to pay the high electric charges to amtrak. Not very green thinking esp running through the baltimore tunnels on a regular basis
NewFlyerMCI
I can confirm that 7802 has made it back, I haven't seen the rest. Based on some pictures from the r/TrainPorn reddit, they were in Denver & Pueblo. Still wondering when we're going to get our set of low-levels back from SEPTA
