Busjack
1 hour ago, William Miles said: Do anyone when are the cts going buy another nabi articulated bus or electric articulated bus Are you serious? Or just throwing stuff at the wall? If you go through this forum, you'll find out that the NABI buses were defective and withdrawn from service, NABI sued for the amount due but settled owing CTA, and then was taken over by NF. Your other question was asked and answered (see the 2023 CTA budget for what it said, or again search this forum, but I'll give you the link). NF moved all its articulated bus production there because the workforce had experience with them (presumably the BRT), but since NF builds everything on the Xcelsior platform, I haven't heard any complaint about them. Pace apparently had to do it, because the time has apparently run out. Pace approved the CNGs in Jan. 2022 (Pace agenda), but apparently the Wheeling garage was derailed by electrification planning, and ENC was put out of business. The hybrids will still be acquired by 2026, which is the current cutoff to become all-electric by 2040. On the other hand, CTA's 2026 order for 8850-8949 will be delivered by Nova Bus by early 2025. So, there are no "notes from Pace." The only real question raised by so-called "supply chain shortages" and "not mature technology" is where CTA is going to get the next planned order of 208 articulated buses, other than that the only qualified assembler in the U.S. is NF.
